The New York City Coalition Against Hunger goes National!

by Guest User

The nonprofit organization Joel has led since 2001, the New York City Coalition Against Hunger, has expanded its work nationwide and will officially change its name today to Hunger Free America to better describe their national anti-hunger programs.

Hunger Free America will also continue its vital work in New York City, under a division named Hunger Free New York City. Joel will continue to lead the group as its Executive Director.

Joel joined with top government leaders in Houston, Texas this morning to make the announcement. The event took place in conjunction with Hunger Free America’s training conference for its AmeriCorps VISTA Anti-Hunger and Opportunity Corps members that provide full-time, year-round community service in 29 states from coast-to-coast.

Anyone who wants to learn how they can donate, volunteer, or advocate to aid Hunger Free America’s efforts can visit http://www.hungerfreeamerica.org to get more information.
